One day, wandering further than ever before, we came upon a large, open field. Two large, stone buildings stood beyond the tall, brown grass of the field, swaying back and forth to the humming breeze. Overwhelmed with awe and wonder, we knew this place was special and to be revered. So, we laid down at the edge of the tree line and crawled a few feet into the field, lifting ourselves on our elbows to watch as occasionally a figure, or two, would walk in the distance from building in flowing garments, head to toe. Knowing we shouldn't stay too long, we reversed our crawl, stood and found our way back to our fort, silent the whole way. I knew that we had come upon the heartbeat of that universal forest. The sacred, holy place that pulsated and saturated all that is in space and time with glorious and sacred life. As I knew then, I know now that place and experience to be more real than my six-year old self coming upon a small college not so far from my home with robed nuns walking to and from a class or meeting. Far more real! While there have been times I seemed to try and forget or ignore this reality, I hear the poetic humming of that and every universe calling me with its song. Maybe you're here because you hear it, or long to hear it, too.     Greg
